Spark Point Music: Behind The Scenes

Episode 9 brings us to our final episode of the Spark Point Radio series.  This is a behind the scenes look at our music program.  It features interviews with youth and parents, creative insight in to how the youth view the program, moments from our teaching sessions, and segments that follow two bands through the songwriting process from initial brainstorming to final recording.  It concludes with some moments from our final performance where all of the youth performed the songs they wrote to an audience of around 60 of their peers, families and supporters.  Thanks for listening and supporting local youth music and creativity! Episode 7 brings us the songs “Summer Breeze” and “Click” from The Lesser Royals! “Summer Breeze” is a relaxing track that reflects on the band members’ experiences of summer on Cortes Island. Some enjoy it- some don’t! “Click” is a deep diving track that carries powerful, contemplative concepts nestled amongst explorative, freestyle jam vibes. The Burnt Marshmallows

Episode 6 brings us the songs “Cozy Winter Days” and “Home” from the Burnt Marshmallows. “Cozy Winter Days” is a relaxing and contemplative track about warm winter memories. What do you enjoy as the seasons get colder? “Home” is an upbeat song that asks you to look at the world through the eyes of a displaced orangutang. This song was undertaken to write in a quick moment and as a result was not fully developed, leaving it to you to imagine what might come next in this story. The Three Musketeers

Episode 4 brings us the songs “Going to a Party” and “Seasons Change” from the Three Musketeers. “Going to a Party” channels the excitement of going to a party and having a great time! A track that invites you seek out the ones you enjoy spending time with, cut loose and crank some loud tunes. “Seasons Change” is a reflective piece that explores the beauty and intrigue of the changing seasons, while employing engaging melody pairings and pacing.
