What bird is that? Listen to ‘Nature Boy’ on CKTZ and find out! (Cortesradio.ca or CKTZ) Thursdays 2:00-3:30PM, PST
For a naturalist’s perspective on global issues, as varied as a new bird discovered in Amazonia to the current thickness of the ice in Lancaster Sound, from rare Lampreys in the Comox Valley to why Mitlenatch Island needs to be burnt to the ground, (according to a leading naturalist)…Nature Boy will ponder the strangest things, the mundane and pick them bones clean.
Drop me a note if you have a question and I’ll do my best to answer it on the air.
Fleetingly yours,
George Sirk

Nature Boy’s Bird Of The Week

I’ll be having ‘bird of the week’ -(and not in the oven!), wildlife sightings, best places to view wildlife, and featuring tidbits and news on what is happening, nature-wise here and globally. And ”the weather” like you’ve never heard on CBC!
This season I’ll be featuring my audio-diary recordings in the high Arctic. I collected the clips while travelling by ship through the NW Passage and Hudson Strait as a naturalist-guide in 2016 and 2017. I’ll also air some favourite CFUV and CBC radio show excerpts. Then there’s the recordings I just made with Kim in Costa Rica this winter…plus recordings that totally fall through the cracks.
Additionally, I’ll interview naturalists, review books, and generally dwell on nature. Then there’s the music….
