FUNDING OFFERED TO CKTZ-FM: The Community Radio Fund of Canada proudly supports “Youth Voices! Storytelling and Songwriting Radio Camps, Intergenerational Salish language programming”
Manson’s Landing and Ottawa September 4, 2018) – Mr. Roger Ouellette, President of the Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) and Roy Hales, President of Cortes Community Radio (CKTZ-FM), a community radio station in Manson’s Landing, BC, are pleased to announce that $50,000 will go towards the implementation of their project “Youth Voices!“. These funds were made available by the CRFC under their Radiometres program, a funding program aimed to improve local programming and volunteer participation. This is the 4th time that the CRFC provides financial support to CKTZ under this program, bringing the total awarded to $159,778.
With the funds received, the station will introduce Youth Voices! A Weekend Radio Camp, with themes of empowerment, storytelling, and a special focus on Indigenous youth outreach. This weekend camp is an opportunity to bring additional collaboration from Klahoose First Nation to provide well supported facilitation for all youth.

Since its inception in 2012, the Radiometres program enabled a total investment of more than $12 million in the campus and community radio sector. It is an impressive number of 360 funded projects that have been approved.
