Eclectic Selection

Eclectic Selection

The Eclectic Collection reflects my love of music, in itís many forms. The rock and roll and blues and folk songs of my youth, jazz, classical and Celtic of later years, all make an appearance during the show. Not the top 40 hits, unless there is no option, but the live versions, the covers by other artists, the hidden gems deep in the albums that never got airplay Cover of Duke Jenkins’ Aristocrats “Baby I’m Sick Of You,” lead song for Jan 2, 2020 Feb 27, 2021 Feb 20, 2021 Feb 13, 2021 Feb 6, 2021 Jan 30, 2021 Jan 22, 2021 Jan 16, 2021 Jan 9, 2021 Jan 2, 2021 Dec 26, 2020 Dec 19, 2020 Dec 12, 2020 Dec 5, 2020 Nov 28, 2020 Nov 7, 2020 Oct 31, 2020 Oct 24, 2020 Oct 17, 2020 October 10, 2020 October 3, 2020 September 26, 2020 September 19, 2020 September 12. 2020 September 4, 2020 August 29, 2020 August 15, 2020 Saturday, August 1, 2020 Saturday July 25, 2020 Saturday, July 18, 2020 Saturday, July 11, 2020 Saturday, July 4, 2020 Saturday, June 27, 2020 Saturday, June 20, 2020 Saturday, June 13, 3030 Saturday, June 6, 2020 Saturday , May 30, 2020 Saturday, May 23, 2020 Saturday, May 16, 2020 Saturday May 9, 2020 Saturday May 2, 2020 Saturday, April 25, 2020 Tuesday, April 21, 2020 Tuesday, Apr 14, 2020 Tuesday Apr 7, 2020 Tuesday, March 31, 2020 Tuesday, Mar 24, 2020 Tues, Mar 17, 2020 Tues Mar 10, 2020 Tues Feb 25, 2020 Tues Feb 18, 2020 Feb 11, 2020 Podcasts Feb 4, 2020 Jan 20, 2020...
End of the Road Show

End of the Road Show

Hello listeners, my is Gregg aka Hiway Hippy. I came to Cortes Radio with my End of the Road Show the first week of June 2018. Funny thing is the station was the first building I entered upon my arrival to the island back in May. Drawn in by the hometown ambiance and the endless volumes of music I was instantly caught hook, line and sinker.   I didn’t know exactly how I would find a space to fill but I knew in my heart that I could add my own twist into ‘Puttin the Freak into Frequency’. Fortunately I was able to meet Howie while moving a local fellow and we set the wheels in motion for a chance at becoming a D.J. 3 day’s later we had an impromptu training session and as they say, the rest is history and I’ve been spinning the tunes Friday afternoons starting at 3pm through till 7pm. The Friday Lunchtime Locomotion is one of the longest regularly running programs dating back to...

It started off as a Contemporary Folk show but very shortly into it I found thousands of World Music CDs and LPs in CFUV’s Music Library and Planet Folk was born. I aired the show every Tuesday afternoon from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and did so for 9 years. Given the population of Victoria I had hundreds of listeners,...
